Open Door Project Uganda is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to easing the effects of poverty in Uganda. Working with established Ugandan organizations, we help them to further their important work with marginalized populations, such as families and individuals living with HIV/AIDS, orphans, homeless and displaced persons and those living in poverty. An all-volunteer organization with very low overhead, Open Door Project Uganda is able to ensure that your money goes where it is most needed — to families and individuals most affected by poverty in Uganda.

Uganda is one of the most beautiful countries in Africa, and is known for the friendliness of its people. But by most counts, Uganda is one of the twenty poorest countries in the world. Many people struggle to live on just one dollar per day. A land-locked country located on Lake Victoria, between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Kenya, Uganda is home to about 30 million people. The life expectancy is 51 years, due mostly to the high infant mortality rate (blame malaria and diarrhea, among others) and AIDS.

Through personal contacts, Open Door Project Uganda has identified some very tangible ways to help some of the most vulnerable children and families in Uganda.
